Building Blocks

It was such a pleasure to hear from people how simple their lives used to be before so much technology and I hope all readers became aware (in any way!) of the change that has transpired over the years.

Firstly, I'd like to emphasize that am also pro-technology only.. after-all it has made our lives so much easier; I just want you to ask yourself if these things, along with making life easier have made it simple too?

.

A reader mentioned about keeping our basics clear yesterday.. Think about it... What is the base or foundation on which your life is built?

This thought by Gandhiji got me to think again ... Why was he so adamant about there being no compromise on fundamentals?

What I got from this was that compromise is like Adjustment.. we can arrive at a Win-Win situation for all, so that's acceptable.. but compromising on your fundamentals is like giving away your very crux (who you are and what you are made of) .. and thus sacrificing (or surrendering) your Power ..hence, a no-can-do!

Thus, I believe that while one could be flexible in adjusting to a situation, one should also be strict about sticking to his/her basics/fundamentals. (Wow! Do you see how this essentially implies that Going beyond is as wrong as falling short, and one should always Follow the middle path ?!)

  1. Thinking of earlier life being Simple is also relative to different generations. But one thing for sure is that with such fast paced innovation it is becoming difficult for every generation to remain abreast with time.
Change is the only Constant. It is easier to accept the Change but very difficult to Change.

    1. Reminded me of another of Einstein's quotes.. 'I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.' 😉
