Have grown up feeling afraid from time to time, but also calming myself down with words such as "Fear is only a mental monster ... It's just a negative stream of consciousness."
Have realized over the years that as long as there is life, we will be faced with unwanted situations, which would lead to the feelings of apprehension and fear; And so I decided to simply view it differently! [Refer to my post on Perspective (Right or Wrong?)]
I strongly believe that The best way to overcome fear is to face it. I now see fear as a challenge instead of an obstacle, and it is so much fun ! (One way that might help you change your outlook is asking yourself the question "so?". Try it!)
Another thing I remind myself whenever I feel afraid is that I don't know anything about an afterlife, so let me just experience all that I can right now! N ya, on the off chance that there is one, let me just do good and be good too ... it's more challenging and fun today anyway! 😉
How do you face your fears? Any thoughts or experiences to share? Would be delighted to know! 😊

DeleteThe best way to face fear is by visualising the outcome that you are unable to.
ReplyDeleteA common example would be having the fear of losing someone close to you or a family member passing away.
The easiest way to overcome and let go of this fear is to visualize it actually happening ..and when you do.. just remind yourself in that minute..that's a part of life, this was meant to happen kabhi Na kabhi..it's god's law. Yes you will get hurt, miss them but remember that hurt is the emotion but the suffering is in your hands.
The sooner you accept (ideally within a minute) the sooner you move on and spread positivity around you. Not only will you live without fear you'd be a pillar of support for the rest of the family.
That's a beautiful perspective :)
DeleteN in case you're thinking why you should visualize the outcome (if you are developing the habit of questioning why as previously discussed), I believe this would help you remove your apprehensions n focus better. What say?
Fear is a reaction to a hypothetical situation which may or may not even arise unless we go through to see. It is because of the thoughts registered in the unconscious mind which takes charge and makes believe the conscious the other way. Fear is a feeling for something going wrong in future which to our surprise, may even go right. Who knows unless we go through our so called “Fears”
ReplyDeleteExactly!
