In this increasingly complex life, I feel that this is the mantra to remember always!
I feel it is really easy to get entangled in our lives!
The way I see it is that as life progresses, more and more elements get added to your life, irrespective of who you are. Thus, life keeps getting complicated and our task is only to reduce the complications by keeping it as simple and clear as we can!
If you think that this sounds insane because why would anyone ever want to complicate their life and doesn’t everyone work towards making life better only always?! ..It's cool!
I agree but here I’d like you to pause for a moment and ask yourself… Is this all you are really doing?!
The simplest way of reaching the core is asking yourself the question ‘why’!
Let’s consider an example to better understand this: You work a job. Ask yourself why. Maybe because you just want to work. But why? Maybe you just want the money, maybe you just like it; ask yourself why!
The more you do this, the more clarity and perspective you’ll gain; and you’ll also feel better about yourself… and as a result, you’ll also be happier!
But I admit that there are times when instead of asking the question 'why?', the question 'so?' puts me at peace! I have found that this question helps me accept more and hence strengthens me!
Try it and let me know if this works for you ... Why or So ?

It actually does! At a very basic level, all my actions are very primal - they are simply focussed at making myself happy in the short term!
ReplyDeleteFor instance, my relationship with food. If I eat a chocolate, I experience such an intense feeling of happiness in that moment when I’m savouring it. But this is followed by an intense wave of guilt, healthy eating and exercise - which also makes me happy knowing I’ve worked the chocolate out. 😂
